Bhangarh, among one of the most haunted places in India as well as in world where the ruins of beautiful fort holds a disastrous past.
Rajasthan holds glorious history of its golden past hidden somewhere in walls of magnificent forts & castles in every nook & corner.
Nestled around the aravalis of Alwar district of Rajasthan, Bhangarh fort is at just 2 hrs drive away from Jaipur and popular as the most haunted place in India. Many researchers claimed the existence of supernatural powers & ghosts in and around Bhangarh even the entry is prohibited for anyone after & before the sunrise as a matter of precaution by Archeological society of India.
There are some popular stories behind the present conditions of deserted fort once was known for its magnificient aura however it is popular that a sorcerer named Singhia had an eye on the beautiful Princess Ratnavati as he knew that there was no chance of his match with her so he decided to entice her with his black magic powers however somehow Princess suspected his trick and the magic repelled to sorcerer and he died but he cursed that the fort and the people used to lived there were vanish soon and soon everything’s vanished along with Princess and locals believes this curse as the reason behind the exisence of ghosts & supernatural powers at Bhangarh.
Without engulfing deep into the stories of past, i will take you to one of my experience during one of my visits during my college days.I studied at Jaipur and the horrible stories of Bhangarh always remains the point of attraction.Me along with bunch of friends decided to step ahead towards Bhangarh after watching a night show of movie. It was 1 am and without any preparations we drove towards an adventurous excursion.
9 guys in two luxury sedans (WagonR) on the way to Bhangarh was itself a disastrous plan, we reached Dausa and asked a shopkeeper(Tea Stall) for the way to which he replied with unnecessarily spooky horrible stories that was enough for anyone to return back then we gathered courage only from that poor chap’s will power who was selling tea at wee hours of night without any fear on face.
The road linking to the fort was narrow and the dense trees with no source of a single ray of light except the headlights on bothways brought curiosity to next level & developed a feeling of encountering a spirit wrapped on a white saree as the nature around us is all dark as night & the sound we can hear coming from outside was only of air flowing with us and soon one of our friend kept quiet, closed his eyes for sometime and told us to move back as he saw someone following us and we all laughed hard on his logic behind the spirit view only to him( he has been told by his parents that he has Dev gan and he can see spirits)
Soon we all at fort and we entered in with some jugaad(adjustment). The fort is really huge with vast periphery, there was garden, temples & ruins reminds me of famous movie Karan Arjun the chudi bazaar shooted here only.
It was already more than 4 am and me alongwith one of my friend found a old man wrapped in white Kurta & dhoti moving towards us and for the first time we were sweating, trembling with fear stepping back slowly on guilt run of coming to this haunted place. He came near to us and enquired loudly ” What are you guys doing here at night” I heard my friend whispering to me try to look on his feets…We replied at one go the story behind our visit at night as my friend whispered again that his feets are alright. I tried to smile but the moment was not apt.He also advised us to not to move in on the tomb of fort adding his introduction as a villager came in as part of daily routine(freshen up) and we felt a sigh of relieve with doubt in mind.
Suddenly we heard loud wild voices as we enteted deep inside the periphery and unknown fear can be seen on each face however we all moved towards the voices and then we encountered evils scarier than ghosts human bieng, there few more students group came in for adventure like us.
The villager old man who was priest there met again and advised us to took a dio in pond near the temple before leaving the fort.We all took a dip though it was interesting that the pond has snakes that doesn’t harms anyone. We performed prayer and left the fort at morning.
“Biggest fear resides in our minds”
P.S. : The story does not encourage anyone to take up the challenge of spending a night at such places as may be you might not encounter a supernatural power but end up to an encounter with wild animals or more wild animals human biengs with dark minds that can harm your life.
