(Gokarna-III) Beach Trekking

Gokarna located on the western coast of India is one of the seven important Hindu pilgrimage centers in India. Gokarna is famous for its beaches and shrines. Known for its unspoiled and rustic nature led us plan a trek along the Arabian Sea.

Trek from Kudle Beach to OM Beach

Beautiful Kudle Beach

We were staying near to Om Beach so the idea is to initiate trekking from Kudle beach. We decided to a take a ferry from the OM Beach to the Kudle Beach and tread on foot from the Kudle Beach. However, to our dimay there was no ferry in views so without any further delay we started treading from Kudle beach.

Hill terrain along kudle beach

We made our way through a hilly terrain to reach the Kudle beach. We took our route through the hills to reach the next beach. One must watch out for the rocky beach path. It was a small trek on a muddy rocky path to reach the OM Beach.

Arial view of Om Beach(3 or ऊ shape is visible clearly)

As one approaches the OM Beach through the rocky terrain you will find a staircase that leads down to the OM Beach. The OM Beach looked like ‘3 or ऊ shape’ from top to bottom. However, the beach names ‘OM’ has been kept after the hindu sacred incantation ‘AUM or OM’.

The beach is very popular among tourists and offers many water sports here with this we find the famous Namaste Cafe that is serving mouthwatering cuisine here & we took our energy bites here.
The beach was so soft that it felt like we were walking on a layer of unhardened chocolate. As we sauntered by the beach. To lighten up the situation I came up with the idea of trying some sand writing and the writing has to be completed without the waves came again & washed your litrature over sand turf.

Trek  from OM Beach to Half Moon Beach

Half moon Beach

This trek is adventourous bedded with rocks. Up the cliff, the path to Half Moon beach is not very clearly marked. The forest is thicker and walking paths can only be recognized by the usage. We took the rocky path adjacent to the sea, walking on the barren hill can be tough and adventurous. After the long and tiring walk we reached the Half Moon Beach. Half Moon beach is named after its shaped which resembles a half cut moon.

Pleasant..away from rush half moon beach

Half Moon beach is a virgin beach and less popular with a majority of travelers. This beach is a perfect spot for peace and nature lovers.

Trek from Half Moon Beach to Paradise Beach

Paradise or Full Moon Beach surrounded by rocks

With no designed trail to reach the next stop, we ventured further with our trekking. The path to Paradise beach is surrounded by the rocks. After the brief walk amidst the rocks we reached the Paradise Beach.

The distance from the Half Moon Beach to Paradise beach was not much. This is small but beautiful beach.

Trekkers along the paradise beach

The beach is enveloped by natural beauty and the best is to enjoy swim and sunbathe there. Marking an end of our trek, we plunged into the beach and rejuvenated on the sand and relaxed.

We took on delectable aroma floating from the kitchen of Namaste Cafe as we walked back from enthralling trek experience.

At Gokarna you cannot expect to have branded stores lying on streets but some local shopping is always good when travelling around any place. The market in Gokarna means a street with several colorful shops selling religious & spirituals souveniers like Trishuls, Mythological books, artifacts, brass lamps etc. and really nice decorative items made of seashells.I bought Kallusakkare, a kind of local sugar candy & mini trishul which is best for this memorable day spent in Gokarna.

Saans(Breath)

I can breath without you
but it used to bring away the feel of life

Though troublesome evening comes everyday

to introduced me from pure dearsome lonliness

Whenever you are discussed anywhere

bright occassions turned bleak

There is smile on lips though

somewhere its mourn deepdown in heart

I am living with love painfully

every savour of drink reminds me your loyalty of love,

I can breath without you

but it used to bring away the feel of life.

(Gokarna-II)Exploring Murudeshwar..A paradise

Gokarna is remote holy town known for its temples and shrines. While at Gokarna I learnt that India’s first tallest statues of Shiva, is located at Murudeshwar, an hour’s distance from Gokarna.  It is said that while at Gokarna one must visit Murudeshwar. The tallest Shiva Statue is also known as Shiva of Murudeshwar. The statue is 123 feet tall. The Shiva of Murudeshwar is located in town in Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district. The name Murudeshwar is another name of the Hindu Lord Shiva.
With this I packed to explore Murudeshwar. It is an hour’s drive to reach Murudeswar from Gokarna, as one nears; the tallest statue of Lord Shiva starts to become visible. Murudeshwar, is the temple town with a vibrant beauty and golden history, located on the Arabian seafront in  Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district in the state of Karnataka and is well connected by roads and railway. Nearest airport is located 127 kms in Manglore.

Once at Murudeshwar, to my awe the place left me spellbound with its lush green landscapes, the spectacular Shiva statue, bordering it was the expansive three side Arabian Sea, an exotic and a remote location. The place had lots for me to explore:

This magnificent Murudeshwar Temple is built on Kanduka Hills surrounded on three sides by the water of the Arabian Sea. The view has its own beauty and is majestic by all means. One can also get a panoramic view of the statue from the lift in 20-storied Gopura the temple authorities have built. A Gopura, is a gateway usually built, at the entrance of any temple, especially in Southern India.

The Rajagopura near the statue at the entrance of the Temple is the world’s tallest gopura and is 249 feet., this mammoth structure is addition to wonderful experience of tourist. The Gopura has 20 floors fitted with elevators to reach the top from where the tourist can have a panaromic view of place and admire the beauty of crafts and nature. The temple is designed like a cave. The main deity of temple is Sri Mridesa Linga, also called Murudeswara. The linga is believed to be a piece of the original Atma Linga and is about two feet grounded.
The Murudeshwar beach is just opposite to the temple. The scenic beauty of this coastal town has a lot to relax, rejuvenate and unwind. I spent an hour at beach as I wanted to see the sunset at the Arbian Sea. There is a natural stroll along the seaside pathway with green landscape on one side and the sea on the other. The place has a wavepool and waterpark for the kids. At the wavepool one will find the best sunset point. A perfect way to end an day at Murudeshwar is to see the sun sinking in the Arabian Sea.

Best Time to Visit: Throughout the year, the weather is pleasant in the months of November to February.

Mehsoos(Feelings)

I feel it,it’s just to say

that the world is colourful

when i observed it from near

nobody is mine,

weird people wearing faces over face

at moment real, fake at very next

strange is game fantastic farce

beautiful from distant far

strange when touched

I feel it,it’s just to say

that the world is colourful.

Barbaad(Wasted)

A hindi urdu poetic verse with english translation…

I kept out at your place

beloved moments from the bag of memories

either spend it or keep it my love

with all safety at any corner of heart,

In the bid of your love

open in market

am i scattered less from you

that also got wasted by world too.

My Moon

Dark venom nights

distress in heart inside

I am searching for my moon

behind dense clouds of disguise,

Is this me loitering for strange clue

hidden deep inside dusk of dawn

or there is no more sanity resides

on the nooks of night frawn,

Running with short of time

i step up towards the sky

as i can see first blush of aurora

keeping me away from orb of night,

toiled by night long, about to said bye!

i saw a fade reflection in early azure wide

someone’s calling me & i found life

sometimes moon do comes with first light

after a dark long night!!
